Mini book cover

IMG_6469For the last two and half years, I have made a mini book at the end of each month. Now I have almost 30 mini books that I decorated with pictures, kids’ drawings, tickets, cards etc. It’s a monthly story book of my family.

I supposed to finish July book long ago, but I was kind of tired of doing the same work over and over. After taking a long break, I finally completed my mission and feel very relieved. Once you’ve done “the resolution”, it gives you more pride. Don’t you agree?

This stamp set is very special to me. About 2 years ago, I gave my drawing to my blog friend in Korea. She surprised me with these stamps couple of weeks later. She ordered a local stamp shop to make special wood stamps. Now I have my own drawing of stamps. That was the breath taking moment.

Today, I draw this picture on the fabric with heat erasable pen. I am so happy that I found this pen. čÖé

As I said before, with sewing machine, sew the sketch. For people who are not familiar with sewing or drawing, this job may look “a waste of labor”, I am afraid.

But I truly enjoy the process. I hope any of you can feel the same joy as I do.

IMG_6464Instead of putting colorful fabrics, I painted my drawing with acrylic paint.

On the other background, I stamped image and sew the line. For flower basket, I changed to Sulky thread and use the manual flower stitch on my Brother sewing machine.

Some times my kids sit around and look through old mini books and start to giggle. How I enjoy that moment, I am very proud of myself then.

Thank you for visiting me  today.
