Today I want to share the story about this sewing illustration of mine.
My blog friend made me this bag last December. I cried when I unwrapped the package. I had no idea how much time it took to finish this picture. On the plain illustrated fabric, she cut all the little pieces of the liberty fabric to color them. She used heat bond to adhere and sew every edges. This was one of the best Christmas gift I ever got from a person I never met.
I couldn’t just sit and enjoy. I started to make my own version of picture for her right away. Without a sketch, I just cut my feed-sack fabric(she sent to me!) to draw the same image.
Then I sewed so many times to secure and to give the depth of the picture. If someone ask me to make the same one again, I doubt to remake. Because I was crazy that time.
One with liberty pattern is her version and the one with Paris map is my version.
Left is made by my friend and right is my bag for her.
I sent my bag to her with my handmade card and I wrote,
“I don’t know when we ever could meet in person. But when that day arrives, let’s hold this bag!”
How I love all the crafty ladies I meet online. You are my friend I haven’t met yet.
Thank you for visiting me.
