I think I told you that my very first quilt lesson was almost 15 years ago at my local quilt shop. I learned how to make a four patch, how to hide a knot and how to make heart applique all by hand sewing. For about two months, I have made small zakka style handmade projects so I didn’t even go close to bigger sized quilts  that I see every day on social media now. I have got to know about actual quilt through my quilty friend Kristin down the street not that long ago. I loved how her old quilts layed in a bigRead More →

I received this beautiful book by Simone Gooding from Tuva Publishing weeks ago. This book was love at first sight before I even started reading! Little Traveller is full of amazing detailed projects. I mean it. And you would stop and pause on each page because all the little attention to detail is pleasing by looking at. I have to tell you though, if you are a first time doll maker, it would bet a little hard to follow the steps. Hand-drawn instructions are good for a experienced doll maker, like me 😉 But don’t be scared because everybody is a beginner at any newRead More →

I have enjoyed making all kinds of round shaped bags lately. After making countless bags and pouches, I wanted to try something NOT square or rectangle. This is how I came up with this Rollcake bag and I am very excited about it. My daughter Claire said it looked like a cake so I named it “Rollcake bag”. I would like to make more bags with different fabric combinations. My Rollcake bag pattern is on my patternshop SewingIllustration.com.         Sources: Liberty fabric from Ava and Neve Fusible fleece from Dailylike Canada Strapping for handle from ByAnnie.com      Read More →
