I used to store all the leftover laces in a ziplock bag. How about you? Are you one of those people who alway organize their sewing supplies neat and pretty? If you are, I want to be your friend right away. 🙂 Today I want to share my vintage woodspool makeover idea.     These are all things I bought at Michaels craft store on a black Friday sale. You’ll need 2 colors of Martha Stewart paints and cheap woodspools.     First, rub a woodspool with Antique Wax color using a cloth.       Let it dry and then apply lighter color paintRead More →

Wrap your notebook with fabric and measure. I made 1/8inch bigger than the notebook size and add 1/4inch seams.   Iron fusible batting on the wrong side of the cover.   I usually draw directly on the fabric but if you are not comfortable, I recommend drawing on the paper first and then trace them on the fabric. That way, you can create multiful images for future use.   Cut colorful fabrics as in the picture if you want to add some colors as I did. Glue the fabric pieces with all purpose glue or fabric glue if you have it.Read More →

Here is another Christmas tag idea. I have many tag ideas but I have no idea what to give Santa. 😉 This morning I went to Starbucks at Vons near my neighbor, I saw a set of Chrismas gift tags with reasonable price. Shortly I was thinking why do I spend hours of hours to make a tag? I wish you tell me that my tags are priceless. 🙂             Enjoy today and squeeze some free time for yourself, my fellow crafters.   Minki   p.s.Erin, I truly appreciate for your your beautiful words.      Read More →

Then you are good to go endless tag making. 🙂   And I also draw a gingerbread man and a hat on a box paper and then trace them on the felt. Making a template is kind of a habit. You never know how many you want to make. Better safe than sorry, you know. 🙂   Hand stitch the gingerbread man on the linenRead More →

Often scrapbooking is considered an expensive hobby.  That’s what I had thought for long time.  There are so many scrapbooking supply designs out there to choose from, but unless you’re right there when they just put on the clearance price tag, you will likely end up spending a lot of money just to create a page in your scrapbook, depending on your preferences.  One day, I realized that I could easily create my own design without spending so much and it would be unique.  There are always things at home that I can re-use to give them “new life”.   DIY Scrapbook Design: Gather whatever brochures, flyers, oldRead More →

It took me two whole days to embroider 4 years old Claire’s drawing on linen. I am sitting in the middle of  messy house with back and neck pain now. 😉 But it was worth it and I kind of regret that I didn’t start this work years before. I am sure the picture will be treasured  over the generation.     This is the original sketch Claire drew for me two days ago. Her explain is, mommy takes a picture of her and big sis got mad. And can you see a tiny person in the house? It’s my eldest Caylin doing her computer. Oh,Read More →
